Summary- One day, a boy thinks that since he was six years old, he was no more a child. He was in Class I and he no longer took any nap. He wore a real uniform and carried heavy books to his school. So, he decides that it was high time that he visit his father in his office.
However, when school is over and it was time to visit his father’s office, he realizes that between his school and his father’s office flows the river Ramganga. Since the river was very wild and there was an old, rusty and narrow bridge across it, it was very difficult to cross. Will he be able to summon the courage to cross it and reach his father? To know it, you must read the book.
Review-
What I liked about the book:
It is a wonderful story of perseverance. It explains how you can be brave and scared at the same time. The author also emphasizes on the fact that when we are in trouble and compare our problems with someone whose plight is even worse, then our problems appear very trivial. I could easily relate with what goes on in the mind of the 6 year old. They think they have become very mature when they are actually not. My 5.5 year old daughter also behaves in the same way. The illustrations are also praiseworthy.
My daughter Aadya’s (5.5 year old) thoughts on the book:
She was amazed by the fact that a boy who was almost the same age as her could be so brave to want to cross a river. She also loved the illustrations.
