Title: Huberta’s Big Surprise

Authors: Klay and Mark Lamprell

Illustrator: Marjorie Crosby- Fairall

Publisher: Scholastic

Type: Hardcover

Age group: 2.5+ to 6 years

Huberta is a cute Hippopotamus and she likes to surprise everyone, but sometimes goes overboard with them! My 2.5 year old daughter, Aaheli was quick to spot how sometimes Huberta’s surprises scared the animals around.😂 Her instant reaction was,

“Mumma, fish scared face!”

One day, the Zookeepers decide to give Huberta a surprise by arranging a visit for her to another zoo but sadly the truck that comes to pick her up breaks down. What Huberta does next and how she plans her biggest surprise for all her Zoo friends is fun to read.

Pictures are beautiful and funny too. What Mumma and Aaheli love the most is the picture in which Huberta lazes in a park and eats fresh flowers.

Love the picture. 💖

If you are looking for a book with beautiful pictures, educational value (it teaches numbers and modes of transport), and one that can inspire your little one to follow what their heart says, then do try giving this a read.❤ You won’t be disappointed.

Verdict: It is a hardcover so safe to use around toddlers. Pictures are large and colorful so even better. The storyline is cute and is sure to keep our little one engaged till the last page.
