It is the middle of the night and everybody in the house is deep in slumber. Paati too, is about to close her eyes, but just then, her granddaughter, Noni, pokes her. Noni is unable to sleep without her favourite bedtime story. Thus, after a round of giggles and chuckles between Paati and her grandchild, begins the story. But it is no ordinary story! Paati narrates the process of making dosa to Noni and together they make it in their imagination. Later on, they share the magical dosa amongst themselves. However, will this story help Noni go off to sleep?
Aspects which I liked about the book:
- I liked the jovial relationship between Paati and Noni that has been depicted in the book. Right from the first page of the book, one can feel it.
- I like books about food. So, when I was offered to review this book, I readily agreed. The way the author has described the process of making dosa, will make you hungry and crave for it. Therefore, it is advisable to read the book with a full tummy.
- My 5 year old daughter Aadya loves to hear about the cooking process of the dishes that she likes. So, here in this book, Noni was very similar to her which I liked.
- The cute and beautiful illustrations acted as a cherry on top of the cake. It made the story more lovely and intriguing.
The parts which made Aadya love the book so much:
- Reading about Noni and her Paati, reminded her about my Mom (her grandmother) and the precious time that she spends with her when she visits us.
- She loved the illustrations as well. When after finishing the book, I asked her what rating would she like to give this book out of 5, she said that she wants to give it a 100/100. It is a must read for all young children who want to have a good laugh.
