We have all heard about the hugely popular Hook Book series with over 25 books which will tickle your funny bone. This was our very first Hook Book that we read and reviewed – and boy, we are ‘Hook’ed onto to Hook Books and Sid has already asked me to buy more of them!

‘What Could It Be?’ is another rib-tickler and is sure to have your kiddo pretty intrigued, slightly scared and very happy!

Young Diya’s Bapu sees something mysterious and terrifying in the bathroom and the book opens with an illustration of a tall looming shadow. Yelp!

Diya is curious and petrified in equal measures – could it be giggling ghosts or wicked witches. She finally discovers the slithery sinister guest. Along with her family and friends, Diya brainstorms on how to tackle the troublesome thing!

To summarise this book: ‘An Amazing Account of Adventure and Accidents’!
And yes, a masterclass by Havaldar Hook on Alliterations.

My 5 year old Siddhanth loved the book – the quirky storyline with its reptilian protagonist and the fun activity at the end of the book introducing alliterations! He added one of his own (Sweet Siddhanth likes to Sing to Samvit).

Sid also tried to read it independently. Your budding reader is sure to love trying to read the book and give the activity a shot.

Richa Bhembre’s beautiful illustrations with its liberal usage rani pink colour really enliven the story.

A 5/5 for this Hook Book- the perfect mix of laughs, jitters and adventure!

The Paper Plane Flew (review) is the other Hook Book written by this author.
