Gadbad. Gadbad. Gadbad. What else do you expect to happen in a town called Gadbadnagar? To add to the ghotala, there is a Nani who turns into a Ninja, a celebrity chef who is coming to town to meet a superhero no one has seen, countless citizens masquerading as the superhero (aka Nani) and a dog who dreams of becoming a chef. Uff, and we are just getting started!
The story has been been set up with a background of protest happening around family’s home and how the people of the community are supporting the cause together. It again shows the curious mind of the girl who inspite of her father’s resentment, goes forward to be a part of the protest.
It was an amazing experience to read and know about the food, festivals and lingo of Anglo Indians. The illustrations are beautiful and we spent the maximum amount of time with this book. This book is an absolute must read for everyone who wants to know about the lives of the lesser-known communities in India.
