This is a list of the books that we found most relevant for the given prompts for 8-12 year olds.

As the name suggests the book is about Kailash Temple at Ellora. The author explains in the detail about the architecture of the temple, who built it, how many years it took and it also tells us about gods and demons in their stories.
These books are for children who are comfortable with chapter books but still not graduated to books without pictures. So the books are actually in 6-10 years range.
The stories are set across the Himalayan ranges in the lands of Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, North Bengal, Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan. They are witty, endearing, heartbreaking and enlightening.
