I spent most of my childhood in rural Rajasthan so I am naturally attracted to vibrant colors of Rajasthan. Already having another book by Ishan Trivedi in our bookshelf, I can tell that his work is beyond beautiful. This book looks like an exquisite art gallery of Indian architecture and tradition. I would always treasure a hardcover book with such delightful illustrations.

Although Royal Secrets is a children’s book but I would recommend it for teens and new couples too. It gives a message that positive self image opens doors to a joyful world where you can focus on creating wonderful things.

Once upon a time, in a royal castle, someone was living in self made fears. The fear of rejection by the most loved person in life. The stigma associated with physical appearance was so strong that keeping it secret seemed perfect. A storm in a teacup spilled over the entire kingdom. Who would prove to be the savior, true love or self acceptance?

Negativity may dominate our conscience‍ when we face our fears. This book gives us a chance to understand how negative self image can demand ill-judged actions, even from the most caring person. Most of the times we fail to make new friends because we feel we are not good enough. Imagine the welcoming behavior a charming person would display if there were no thoughts of embarrassment.

Children should know that everyone possesses an endless beauty, a good heart. No one is perfect in the world but still you are completely perfect to those who truly love you. Every mother is the most beautiful person to her little one. My elder daughter always draws my facial scars on mother’s day portraits because for her it’s not her mother without those features. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I am not ME and you are not YOU without these unique features.
