Title: SnapTales: The Ghost Tree and Other Stories

Krutheeka posted the inside pages along with her son’s review here in the kbc fb group. Excerpts: Review By 9-year-old Shlok who LOVES reading!

“OMG, this book is awesome! The Ghost Tree and Other Stories has so many cool and crazy short stories that I couldn’t stop reading. Every story is different, and each one is full of fun, surprises, and a little bit of magic (and even some spooky stuff too!).

One of my favorite stories is about a pair of magic trousers that can do some really wild things—they’re not just clothes, they’re like a superpower! Then there’s a story about the flying football boots that that you invisible while flying. How amazing is that!!!

But the most interesting story for me was The Ghost Tree. It was a little spooky, but not too scary. It’s about a tree that can make you know things that you couldn’t have known otherwise!! I enjoyed the mystery and spookiness of this story.

There is also a story about a boy who is caught between whether he should choose and learn music or magic? What happens when he chooses one over the other. Get a copy and find out more.

There’s also a funny story “Knock, knock! Who’s there?” that describes how a dare turns into a night of knock knock jokes. I liked how each story had a twist at the end, something I didn’t see coming.

The illustrations inside the book are fun too. They made me smile and helped me imagine the characters and silly things better.

This book is perfect if you’re around 8 years (or older!) and you like stories that are funny, magical, and a little weird in a good way. I would totally recommend it to my friends at school.

I give this book a BIG 8.5 out of 10 stars!”

TitleSnapTales: The Magic Dust and Other Stories

We received this book as a prize for WRAD2025 and what a wonderful book it is. This book is one of the titles in the series Snap Tales. It is a collection of magical short stories, which on reading will transport the readers to a magical world.

One of the stories is about Cal, who one rainy morning found a magical rainbow road leading him to a giant castle where he found a grumpy giant who said he loves to eat kids but will let Cal go if he makes him smile. Was Cal successful in making the giant laugh and will he be able to return safely home?

From the giant castle, kids will join a magical feast arranged by Mr. Mumble (the magician of the village), who loved to create magic that led the villagers to trouble. Was Mr. Mumble able to host the magical feast without any trouble and mend himself?

What will you do if one fine day you find out that your neighbour is a spider? Or suddenly you find a bottle of magical dust in your cupboard, which says “use it with care”. How will you use it? Or think that for your birthday your granny has sent you a skateboard but you find a jar of spicy pickle in it? Or instead of a red bow that you had planned to wear at a function you receive a pig, what will you do?

To find out more about all these exciting magical stories one has to read the book which everyone will love to read. The illustrations are in black and white and are not on every page, but the stories will keep the readers enchanted.

Mrittika loved reading the book, in fact she says this is one her favourite books and she makes a point to read the stories everyday.
