I am posting this review on behalf of my almost 10 year old boy, Bhavik.

This book is divided into 2 sections, Mountains and Rivers. Let me tell you, it’s not only about the mountains and rivers of India, it’s also about how diverse India is in its landforms, how those landforms have been formed, and a lot of interesting stories around them.

I knew about mountain ranges but never knew about the states which each of these ranges passes through, or how each of these ranges was formed.

The book explains in detail why and how cities have grown along the banks of these rivers and between the valleys of these mountain ranges.

I love how the vegetation, culture, history, and wildlife are interwoven with the place and its origin which makes me want to know more about that place. It also touches upon why certain rivers are important to the people of certain parts of India.

This book summarizes and explains the mountains, rivers, their origin, tributaries, and how they all impact the lives of the people around them very beautifully. It also tells us about the life and culture of the people and how all these have evolved over the centuries.

Small stories related to the history of these mountains and rivers, people and communities, and the legends and folklore given in this book make it a very interesting read for all ages.

I am sure that after reading this book, everybody will be fascinated by the geography of India. This book can also be a great source of knowledge and inspiration for traveling across the length and breadth of India.

While reading this book and looking at all the beautiful illustrations, I had the urge to go to the mountains, rivers, and plains, all at the same time!

Some bits of puzzles, crosswords, mazes, and differences are loved by my 5-year-old sister too.

Grab this book as fast as you can, and you’ll be set for an adventure of a lifetime. So, pack your bags and get ready!

SONIA MEHTA HAS AN EXTENSIVE DISCOVER INDIA SERIES WHICH COMES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
