The first thing about ‘The Great Big Lion’ that took me by surprise was that it was written as well as illustrated by a 3 year old Mensa prodigy, Chryseis Knight. The art work and the level of detail gone into lion’s mane alone is exemplary. The bright board book caught eyes of my 3 year old instantly and I saw him flipping through the pages intently.
Very very often we get queries on Parenting Books and our kbc members share the ones that have worked for them.
Most toddlers are scared when they are taken to the hairdresser for a haircut. When one of our members asked for some books to deal with this issue, we got some interesting recommendations and and some pretend play ideas!
A book named “The ABCs of Virtues”, would it be preachy? This was the thought that came to my mind before we read this book. I worried needlessly. Not only was the book not preachy at all, it is probably one of the most unique books I’ve ever come across. Not written in a story form, it introduces 26 key virtues every child (human) should know – one for each alphabet!
Books featuring moms are very common. But since we are an Equal Parenting community that believes Dads play an important role in the entire journey, not just reading journey and that they deserve to be celebrated (not just on Father’s Day) – we all curated this heartwarming list of Books on Dads!
