There are books that play with your mind, books that resonate with your heart — and then there are rare ones that quietly stir something deeper in your soul. Vibha’s book, Manifest your True Self, is one of those. It doesn’t just stay with you while you’re reading; it finds its way into your conversations, your quiet moments, even the way you respond to a difficult day. That kind of impact is hard to put into words, but I’ll try.

What I loved most is that this book doesn’t try to teach you something entirely new. Instead, it gently reminds you of what you already know — the dohas, the shlokas, the stories from our scriptures and mythology that many of us grew up hearing. Somewhere in the beautiful chaos of raising little ones, building careers, and scrolling through our feeds, those gems got buried. This book lovingly unearths them. Each chapter is a manageable 6–8 pages, yet leaves you with so much to sit with and reflect on. It respects your time while still nourishing your mind.

A little story before I go on — and I think this is important! When the book arrived, my cousin, who was visiting, spotted it and asked to borrow it before I’d even turned the first page. Two weeks passed and I heard nothing. When I finally asked him about it, he said, “It’s good, but I couldn’t really relate to it.” Honestly? That planted a small seed of doubt in me.

But I asked for it back and decided to judge it for myself. And from the very first chapter, my experience was the complete opposite. I was hooked, and every chapter had me eagerly turning the page to learn more. The structure of the book is something I really want to highlight because the author has been incredibly thoughtful here. It’s organised into four sections under the acronym FORT:

Each chapter opens by acknowledging the emotion, then explores why we feel it, weaves in stories that carry the lesson, offers a quick summary to consolidate the learning, and then — my favourite part — invites you to reflect through guided questions: What happened? Why do you think it happened? What would you do differently? It’s journaling-lite, and it felt so therapeutic.

The book beautifully unpacks how our desires drive our emotions — how we soar when we achieve our goals and how anger quietly creeps in when we don’t. It speaks about communication as the cornerstone of healthy relationships, and how honesty delivered with care and sensitivity is truly an art worth cultivating — especially in the relationships that matter most to us. It also touched me deeply in how it speaks of gratitude — toward our ancestors, our teachers, those who have helped us along the way. And it handles grief with such tenderness, encouraging us to process it, feel it fully, but not be held captive by it.

Here’s the personal part, and perhaps why I feel compelled to share this with all of you. When I picked up this book, I was quietly carrying the weight of some relationships that were emotionally draining me. I wasn’t even fully aware of how heavy that load had gotten. This book gently gave me the tools to begin releasing it — to redirect my energy toward what brings light rather than what pulls me into darker emotional spaces. It has made me feel, honestly, liberated. I still return to certain chapters when I feel like I need a gentle reset — and that, to me, is the mark of a truly special book. It doesn’t just sit on the shelf after you’ve finished it. It becomes a quiet companion.
